Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain high-performance Java-based applications

  • Collaborate across teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable code

  • Analyze requirements, perform design, coding, testing, and deployment

  • Work on distributed systems and multithreaded applications

  • Participate in code reviews, architecture decisions, and system integration

  • Communicate with global stakeholders including business users and technologists

  • Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using REST, SOAP, and messaging frameworks

  • Follow Agile methodology and contribute to regular sprint cycles

  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues and performance bottlenecks

  • Ensure compliance with development standards and best practices


Required Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with Java and Java-based frameworks

  • Proficiency in building RESTful services and working with SOAP/XML APIs

  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns

  • Experience in multithreaded programming and building scalable systems

  • Familiarity with database design and writing SQL queries

  • Exposure to agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills in a global delivery environment

  • Ability to work closely with business users and understand functional requirements

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to deliver under pressure

  • Sound knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) principles


Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of Spring, Hibernate, or other enterprise Java frameworks

  • Experience with messaging platforms like MQ

  • Familiarity with job scheduling tools like Autosys

  • Background in financial services or investment banking is a strong advantage

  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools

  • Working knowledge of version control systems like Git

  • Understanding of microservices architecture

  • Experience with testing tools like JUnit, TestNG, or Selenium

  • Previous work in a globally distributed team structure

  • Experience with containerized environments using Docker or Kubernetes
