Key Responsibilities

As a Data Science Finance Analyst 1 at HP, your primary role will involve leveraging data science techniques to support business decisions and optimize financial outcomes. You’ll work with large datasets, employ statistical models, and create dashboards to help drive strategy within the finance department. Key responsibilities include:

  • Use digital skills and data science methodologies to design and build innovative finance solutions

  • Mine structured and unstructured data using modern tools and programming languages (Python, R, SQL)

  • Develop and refine algorithms and data models to identify trends and predict business outcomes

  • Conduct descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analysis to support financial decision-making

  • Create and implement analytics-driven applications that align with business goals

  • Collaborate with finance and IT teams to understand business problems and gather requirements

  • Perform data wrangling, cleaning, and validation to ensure data accuracy and integrity

  • Create impactful visualizations using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent

  • Present data-driven stories to stakeholders for strategic planning and performance management

  • Stay up to date with advancements in data science tools and apply them to solve real-world financial challenges
