Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and manage scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows across multiple systems
Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to deliver reliable data architecture solutions
Monitor and support critical data infrastructure with a focus on uptime and performance
Implement and optimize data models for data warehousing and analytics
Work with structured and unstructured data to support reporting and business intelligence needs
Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues using root cause analysis techniques
Maintain data quality, reliability, and compliance with Amazon’s internal standards
Automate data workflows using scripting and scheduling tools
Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation for data engineering projects
Drive continuous improvement in system performance, data throughput, and development processes
Required Skills
1+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a related field
Strong hands-on expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, HiveQL, or SparkSQL
Solid understanding of data modeling techniques and data warehousing concepts
Experience building ETL pipelines using tools or custom solutions
Scripting experience in Python, Shell (KornShell/Bash), or equivalent languages
Familiarity with relational databases and query optimization
Ability to work with large datasets and perform data transformations efficiently
Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Passion for working in a fast-paced, innovative environment
Preferred Skills
Experience with Big Data tools like Apache Hadoop, Spark, EMR, or similar
Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS Redshift, Glue, S3, etc.
Working knowledge of data visualization and BI tools (Tableau, QuickSight, Power BI)
Hands-on experience with data ingestion frameworks and orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or AWS Step Functions
Exposure to Agile development practices and DevOps pipelines
Knowledge of data security and governance best practices
Ability to implement data validation and data quality frameworks
Experience working with streaming data systems (Kafka, Kinesis, Flink)
Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB, MongoDB
Understanding of financial domain or payment processing systems is a plus
