Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and manage scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows across multiple systems

  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to deliver reliable data architecture solutions

  • Monitor and support critical data infrastructure with a focus on uptime and performance

  • Implement and optimize data models for data warehousing and analytics

  • Work with structured and unstructured data to support reporting and business intelligence needs

  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues using root cause analysis techniques

  • Maintain data quality, reliability, and compliance with Amazon’s internal standards

  • Automate data workflows using scripting and scheduling tools

  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation for data engineering projects

  • Drive continuous improvement in system performance, data throughput, and development processes


Required Skills
  • 1+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a related field

  • Strong hands-on expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, HiveQL, or SparkSQL

  • Solid understanding of data modeling techniques and data warehousing concepts

  • Experience building ETL pipelines using tools or custom solutions

  • Scripting experience in Python, Shell (KornShell/Bash), or equivalent languages

  • Familiarity with relational databases and query optimization

  • Ability to work with large datasets and perform data transformations efficiently

  • Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

  • Passion for working in a fast-paced, innovative environment


Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Big Data tools like Apache Hadoop, Spark, EMR, or similar

  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS Redshift, Glue, S3, etc.

  • Working knowledge of data visualization and BI tools (Tableau, QuickSight, Power BI)

  • Hands-on experience with data ingestion frameworks and orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or AWS Step Functions

  • Exposure to Agile development practices and DevOps pipelines

  • Knowledge of data security and governance best practices

  • Ability to implement data validation and data quality frameworks

  • Experience working with streaming data systems (Kafka, Kinesis, Flink)

  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB, MongoDB

  • Understanding of financial domain or payment processing systems is a plus
