Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain core features of the Appian platform, ensuring high scalability and reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and release new platform features.
Write clean, testable, and efficient Java code with a focus on performance and maintainability.
Resolve issues by debugging platform features and building automated solutions to prevent recurrences.
Contribute to software design discussions, code reviews, and agile sprint planning sessions.
Develop and enhance the declarative programming language within the Appian platform.
Build software that supports the performance, availability, and security of enterprise-grade applications.
Translate complex business requirements into simple and scalable software solutions.
Learn and adapt to new technologies and best practices in software development and DevOps.
Participate in engineering bootcamps, training programs, and company-wide hackathons.
Required Skills
Strong command over the Java programming language and understanding of object-oriented programming.
Proficiency with version control tools such as Git and experience with Shell scripting.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile software development environment.
Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate technical ideas.
Curiosity and adaptability to learn internal tools and proprietary technologies used at Appian.
Understanding of software development lifecycle and design patterns.
Ability to analyze, design, and debug multi-threaded systems or distributed systems.
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within small, skilled development teams.
Preferred Skills
Prior internship or experience working on enterprise-level software development projects.
Exposure to declarative languages or DSLs (Domain-Specific Languages).
Knowledge of web technologies such as REST APIs, JSON, and frontend/backend integration.
Understanding of software architecture and system design in cloud environments.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools, containerization (Docker), or virtualized environments.
Experience participating in technical competitions, hackathons, or contributing to open-source projects.
Knowledge of Agile development methodologies including Scrum or Kanban.
Exposure to performance optimization, security best practices, or load testing tools.
Basic knowledge of databases, SQL, and ORM frameworks.

Eligibility Criteria
Minimum 70% in 10th and 12th grade.
UG or PG degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline with at least 70%.
No active backlogs (arrears) at the time of application.
Strong communication skills and a good academic track record.
Internship experience or participation in extracurricular activities is a plus.
