Role Overview

We are looking for an Associate Quantitative Analyst to join Morningstar’s Indexes New Product Development Team. The role involves developing benchmark indexes across asset classes, analyzing financial data, collaborating with global research teams, and participating in the full product lifecycle from ideation to launch. This is a perfect opportunity for an entry level analyst Mumbai seeking hands-on experience in financial analytics and index design.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in building next-generation Benchmark Indexes across Equity and Fixed Income asset classes.

• Validate, curate, and analyze large datasets to support methodology development.

• Collaborate with Morningstar research teams, including equity, quantitative, manager, and sustainability research teams.

• Contribute across the full product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch.

• Work closely with other index teams to operationalize methodologies efficiently.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Python or R programming.

• Strong SQL skills with experience handling large, complex tables (Postgres or SQL Server).

• Understanding of basic financial ratios, portfolio construction, and modern portfolio theory (desirable).

• Excellent documentation, communication, and presentation skills.

• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving capability.

• Progress toward CFA designation is an advantage.
