Key Responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer II at Tesco, your primary responsibilities will include:
Build responsive UI screens based on mockups and requirements defined by Product Managers.
Integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic and REST APIs.
Independently design and implement website layouts and individual screens with minimal guidance.
Ensure web applications are optimized for cross-device compatibility and responsive design.
Participate in peer code reviews, contributing to high-quality, maintainable, and clean code.
Integrate analytics for critical user paths and continuously evaluate end-user engagement.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve performance, functional, and technical issues.
Maintain a high standard of engineering excellence for internet-scale applications and services.
Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders including product management, technical teams, and support services.
Contribute actively in Agile team ceremonies, retrospectives, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Respond effectively to production incidents and provide support with priority when required.
This role provides exposure to full-stack web development, front-end engineering, and modern software development practices, offering hands-on experience in building scalable, reliable, and performant applications.
Required Skills
