Key Responsibilities
As a Junior Software Developer – AI/ML at Siemens, you will contribute to the design, development, and deployment of AI-powered applications that deliver measurable impact. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team working at the intersection of AI research, cloud technology, and enterprise applications.
Your core responsibilities include:
Design, develop, and optimize Natural Language Processing (NLP)-driven AI solutions, using techniques such as Named Entity Recognition (NER), semantic embeddings, and document summarization.
Build and productionize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines and agentic workflows to enable context-aware, intelligent applications.
Fine-tune, prompt-engineer, and deploy Large Language Models (LLMs) such as OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude, Falcon, and LLaMA for domain-specific business solutions.
Collaborate closely with data scientists, backend developers, and cloud architects to deliver scalable, AI-first systems.
Evaluate and integrate third-party AI models/APIs and open-source frameworks for generative AI use cases.
Continuously monitor, evaluate, and improve model performance, reducing latency while enhancing accuracy and reliability in production environments.
Implement observability, explainability, and performance monitoring features to ensure responsible AI deployment.
Adhere to enterprise-level quality standards, ensuring your solutions meet requirements for reliability, traceability, and maintainability.

Required Skills
To excel in this role, you should have:
A strong foundation in AI/ML principles, with hands-on exposure to NLP and Generative AI technologies.
Knowledge of LLM architectures and fine-tuning techniques like LoRA and PEFT.
Proficiency in Python for AI model development and deployment.
Experience with AI frameworks such as LangChain, Hugging Face Transformers, LlamaIndex, and Smol Agents.
Understanding of embeddings and vector search for semantic information retrieval.
Preferred Skills

Prior experience designing and deploying RAG pipelines and multi-step agent architectures.
Familiarity with ML observability and explainability tools like TruEra, Arize, and WhyLabs.
