Program Overview
This 6-month apprenticeship program at NNE is designed specifically for fresh engineering graduates looking to gain structured exposure to real-world pharmaceutical engineering projects. Trainees will be immersed in hands-on learning experiences involving cross-disciplinary collaboration, compliance training, technical documentation, and engineering problem-solving. At the end of the program, selected trainees may be considered for full-time roles based on performance and availability of positions.
Key Responsibilities
As a Trainee Engineer at NNE, your role will involve both learning and contributing. You will receive structured training and be assigned real-time tasks that support ongoing projects across various engineering verticals. Key duties include:
Participating in comprehensive induction and technical training modules tailored for pharma engineering.
Understanding the fundamentals of pharmaceutical plant design, GEP (Good Engineering Practices), and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
Supporting design teams in developing layouts, process flows, and specifications for pharma cleanrooms and production areas.
Assisting senior engineers in validation, documentation, and preparation of SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
Observing safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and compliance policies across assigned tasks.
Collaborating on cross-functional teams including mechanical, instrumentation, automation, and process departments.
Participating in client meetings, site visits, and design reviews under expert supervision.
Preparing reports, test cases, project documentation, and compliance records in line with FDA and ISO requirements.
Engaging in knowledge-sharing sessions, technical workshops, and internal seminars to broaden domain understanding.
Continuously tracking learning progress and feedback sessions with assigned mentors.
Required Skills
NNE is looking for individuals who possess a strong combination of technical aptitude and professional behavior. The following are essential:
Strong command of English (both written and spoken).
Solid foundation in engineering principles, particularly in core subjects related to your stream.
Curiosity and interest in pharmaceutical production, engineering compliance, and automation.
Logical thinking, good problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
Team player mindset with excellent interpersonal skills and openness to feedback.
Basic MS Office skills, especially MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Time management, task planning, and execution discipline.
Willingness to work in a structured, process-driven environment.
High ethical standards and a commitment to quality and accountability.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
While not mandatory, the following skills will be an added advantage during your apprenticeship and potential future roles:
Prior internship experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, or biotech facilities.
Basic knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit.
Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA, or automation frameworks used in pharma.
Exposure to validation protocols like IQ/OQ/PQ.
Understanding of HVAC systems, water purification systems, and cleanroom classifications.
Programming or scripting in Python, MATLAB, or C++.
Use of simulation tools or project planning software like Primavera or MS Project.
Participation in technical paper presentations, hackathons, or engineering expos.
Involvement in professional student bodies like IEEE, ISPE, or robotics clubs.
