Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Analyst in the Competitive Intelligence Team at Dell Technologies, you will play a critical role in leveraging data to evaluate market trends and competitive positioning. Your day-to-day tasks will focus on deep analysis and strategic input to guide Dell’s marketing and product strategies.
Analyze global pricing datasets and extract insights to assess Dell’s competitive standing.
Collect and evaluate competitor data, pricing strategies, and emerging industry trends.
Formulate concise summaries and actionable insights to support decision-making for senior leadership.
Identify discrepancies and trends in data, flag issues for immediate attention, and recommend solutions.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define reporting requirements and ensure data accuracy.
Maintain regular communication with end users to set expectations for report delivery and SLA adherence.
Monitor the availability of datasets, proactively update teams on delays, and manage expectations.
Deliver data visualizations and performance dashboards that support business cases or competitor insights.
Provide recommendations that influence product positioning, pricing adjustments, and marketing tactics.
Drive innovation in reporting by adopting automation, scripting, and modern analytical frameworks.
Required Skills
To be successful in this role, Dell expects you to bring strong analytical capabilities along with technical fluency in data tools. The must-have skills include:
Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Python – experience in data manipulation using pandas, NumPy, and visualization tools like matplotlib or seaborn.
Strong command of SQL – ability to write complex queries and optimize for performance.
Solid experience in analyzing large datasets and creating insight-driven reports.
Proficiency in working with Excel, Power BI, or Tableau for dashboarding (preferred).
Understanding of business strategy and the ability to translate data insights into actionable strategy.
Familiarity with competitive intelligence tools or data scraping techniques.
Effective communication skills for presenting insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and work independently.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and logical reasoning.
Experience working with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work setting.
Preferred Skills
While not mandatory, the following skills and experience can give you a competitive edge for this role:
Web Scraping Experience using tools like BeautifulSoup, Selenium, or Scrapy to extract competitive data.
Knowledge of Dell’s pricing ecosystem and partner tools.
Background in market research or experience working in consulting, strategy, or product analytics.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) for data handling and storage.
Ability to work with API-based data integrations and JSON parsing.
Experience in presenting to senior leaders or C-level executives.
Understanding of pricing elasticity and financial modeling.
Knowledge of Power Query and data transformation techniques in Excel or Power BI.
Prior exposure to predictive analytics or machine learning applications in pricing.
Certifications in Python for Data Science or Advanced SQL will be a strong plus.
