As a Data Scientist at Xylem, you will work closely with business teams to drive data-driven decisions, optimize lead generation pipelines, and create actionable insights through dashboards and reporting tools.
Key Responsibilities
SQL Database Management: Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of Xylem’s SQL databases. Monitor, troubleshoot, and make necessary adjustments to meet evolving business requirements.
Python-Based Lead Generation: Lead and maintain the Python-based lead generation program, leveraging Kedro pipelines and Harvest Growth tools. Continuously optimize and enhance the pipeline to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Dashboards and Reporting: Collaborate with business units to design, enhance, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reporting tools for growth and pricing initiatives. Ensure dashboards are actionable, insightful, and user-friendly for stakeholders.
Documentation and Training: Create comprehensive documentation for data processes, pipelines, and dashboards. Develop training materials to ensure teams understand and can leverage lead generation programs effectively.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with business, product, and technical teams to identify data requirements, solve complex challenges, and deliver high-impact solutions.
Problem Solving and Optimization: Analyze data trends, uncover patterns, and provide actionable recommendations to support business growth initiatives. Contribute to ongoing improvements in analytics processes and automation strategies.

Required Skills
Proficiency in SQL Server for database management, including writing complex queries, maintaining data integrity, and troubleshooting issues.
Strong Python skills, particularly in building and maintaining pipelines for lead generation and data processing. Experience with Kedro pipelines is highly valuable.
Hands-on experience in data analysis and visualization, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
Familiarity with Power BI or similar reporting tools for creating interactive dashboards that support business decision-making.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address technical and business challenges effectively.
Ability to quickly learn new technologies, tools, and methods to improve existing processes.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across teams and convey technical insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong sense of ownership and urgency, ensuring projects are delivered accurately and on time.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques for predictive analytics and advanced data modeling.
Experience in implementing growth-focused data strategies and optimizing pipelines for efficiency.
Familiarity with other data visualization tools such as Tableau or Quicksight.
Prior exposure to business intelligence projects in industrial, utilities, or water technology sectors is a plus.
