Key Responsibilities
As a Salesforce Release Engineer at S&P Global, you will play a crucial role in managing deployments across multiple Salesforce environments. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Plan and execute scheduled Salesforce releases using Azure DevOps, Git, and Copado.
Manage proper tracking of released components in version control to ensure version consistency.
Own and continuously improve the release process by documenting release issues and developing process improvement plans.
Prepare detailed release notes and communicate release status to stakeholders, development teams, and business users.
Work closely with developers and admins to resolve build problems, metadata conflicts, and integration issues.
Maintain consistency between Salesforce sandbox environments, including Development, QA, UAT, and Production.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with a focus on quality gates, approval processes, and automation.
Monitor and troubleshoot deployment failures, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing business processes.
Collaborate with DevOps and QA teams to implement best practices and automation tools.
Required Skills
Candidates for this role should have the following skills and competencies:
Proficiency with Salesforce deployment tools such as Change Sets, Ant, or SFDX.
Experience with release management platforms like Copado.
Understanding of version control systems such as Git for managing metadata and code changes.
Familiarity with Salesforce environments (Dev, QA, UAT, Prod) and coordinating release cycles.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for resolving build and deployment issues.
Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with developers, administrators, testers, and business teams.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation processes.
