Key Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer at Parexel, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines and analytics solutions that support our global operations. Your daily responsibilities will include:
Developing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Snowflake to ingest and transform large datasets from multiple sources efficiently.
Configuring and maintaining Denodo virtualization layers to ensure seamless, consistent, and secure data access for internal stakeholders.
Collaborating with the Business Intelligence (BI) team to design and optimize Power BI data models for dashboards and reports that drive informed decision-making.
Conducting data quality checks, validation processes, and integrity audits to ensure that our analytics systems deliver reliable and accurate insights.
Troubleshooting and resolving data pipeline issues, often in coordination with cross-functional teams including IT, analytics, and compliance.
Implementing data lineage tracking, monitoring, and automated alerting to proactively detect potential issues and maintain system reliability.
Adhering strictly to data security protocols, compliance requirements, and industry best practices across all workflows.
This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Required Skills
To succeed in this position, you should bring:
Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Snowflake for data integration and transformation.
Solid understanding of data modeling principles and data virtualization concepts (Denodo experience is a plus).
Advanced SQL skills for efficient data querying, analysis, and optimization.
Basic Python scripting knowledge for automation, data cleansing, and processing.
Hands-on experience in building or supporting Power BI data models.
Preferred Skills
While not mandatory, the following skills will give you an advantage:
Experience with data governance frameworks and lineage tracking tools.
Familiarity with cloud-based data security best practices.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines in data engineering environments.
