This is a remote opportunity that allows you to collaborate with global teams while contributing to projects that directly impact the healthcare and pharmaceutical sector.

Key Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer at Parexel, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines and analytics solutions that support our global operations. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Snowflake to ingest and transform large datasets from multiple sources efficiently.

  • Configuring and maintaining Denodo virtualization layers to ensure seamless, consistent, and secure data access for internal stakeholders.

  • Collaborating with the Business Intelligence (BI) team to design and optimize Power BI data models for dashboards and reports that drive informed decision-making.

  • Conducting data quality checks, validation processes, and integrity audits to ensure that our analytics systems deliver reliable and accurate insights.

  • Troubleshooting and resolving data pipeline issues, often in coordination with cross-functional teams including IT, analytics, and compliance.

  • Implementing data lineage tracking, monitoring, and automated alerting to proactively detect potential issues and maintain system reliability.

  • Adhering strictly to data security protocols, compliance requirements, and industry best practices across all workflows.

This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Required Skills

To succeed in this position, you should bring:

  • Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Snowflake for data integration and transformation.

  • Solid understanding of data modeling principles and data virtualization concepts (Denodo experience is a plus).

  • Advanced SQL skills for efficient data querying, analysis, and optimization.

  • Basic Python scripting knowledge for automation, data cleansing, and processing.

  • Hands-on experience in building or supporting Power BI data models.

Preferred Skills

While not mandatory, the following skills will give you an advantage:

  • Experience with data governance frameworks and lineage tracking tools.

  • Familiarity with cloud-based data security best practices.

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines in data engineering environments.

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex data challenges efficiently.
