The Insights, Data Engineering & Analytics (IDEAs) team plays a pivotal role in this mission. Key Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders such as product managers, data scientists, business analysts, and fellow engineers to gather and understand user requirements for new features and enhancements.
Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of innovative, data-driven platform solutions that empower decision-making across the entire organization.
Participate actively in the architecture and coding of product features, writing high-quality, reusable, and efficient code, as well as improving existing codebases to meet evolving product needs and performance goals.
Work with very large and complex datasets to build efficient, scalable, and fault-tolerant data pipelines and services that enable real-time and batch analytics.
Learn and apply modern data analytics, visualization, and democratization techniques to make insights accessible company-wide.
Assist in breaking down large projects into manageable tasks and provide accurate effort estimations to ensure timely delivery of features.
Serve as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) for monitoring assigned product features or services, proactively addressing performance issues, downtime, or interruptions and executing recovery actions following established protocols.
Continuously seek out and adopt best engineering practices and emerging technologies to improve product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and scalability.
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in distributed computing, big data frameworks, cloud-native architectures, and Azure services.
Required Skills
Proficiency in one or more programming languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, with a solid understanding of object-oriented design, concurrency, and multithreading.
Strong foundation in software engineering principles, including design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
Experience or familiarity with distributed cloud services and architectures, including microservices and event-driven systems.
Understanding of software testing methodologies, release management, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Analytical mindset with the ability to design, optimize, and debug large-scale systems and data workflows.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within diverse teams.
Preferred Skills
Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Cosmos DB, Kusto (Azure Data Explorer), Apache Spark, Kafka, or other big-data technologies.
Familiarity with Azure cloud services, DevOps tools, and cloud security best practices.
Knowledge of data warehousing principles, ETL processes, and implementing scalable data architectures.
Ability to work independently in fast-paced, dynamic environments, balancing competing priorities with focus and discipline.
Strong problem-solving skills, quick learning ability, and adaptability to changing technologies and business needs.
