ISDL’s projects range from enhancing enterprise server technologies and hybrid cloud infrastructure to contributing to IBM’s AI-powered automation solutions. It plays a pivotal role in transforming and modernizing IT systems used across various industries.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in the complete lifecycle of product development, including design, development, coding, testing, and deployment of IBM Systems technologies such as Operating Systems, Firmware, Cloud, and Storage Software.
Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance software components to meet enterprise-grade requirements.
Collaborate with global cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and quality assurance teams to deliver impactful software solutions.
Analyze client requirements and translate them into product features, enhancements, and improvements.
Identify and resolve technical challenges, bugs, and performance bottlenecks across multiple software layers.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
Engage in code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing with team members.
Contribute to internal tools, open-source repositories, and the global developer community.
Follow IBM’s best practices for security, cloud-native development, and agile methodology.
Support system validation and troubleshooting in collaboration with customer support teams.
Required Skills
Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, GoLang, and Shell scripting.
Strong foundational knowledge of operating systems, virtualization techniques, and RESTful API design.
Exposure to cloud technologies, DevOps tools, and microservices architecture.
Familiarity with containerization platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenStack.
Experience working with Git, GitHub, or similar version control systems.
Understanding of CI/CD tools and practices for automated software delivery.
Basic experience in security, system performance tuning, and high availability design.
Comfort working in Unix/Linux environments and automation tools like Ansible.
Analytical thinking with a strong ability to debug, diagnose, and solve complex problems.
Willingness to work in Agile development environments and collaborate with distributed teams.
Preferred Skills
Exposure to artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning technologies.
Knowledge of frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Jupyter Notebooks, and NLP libraries.
Experience with open-source databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis.
Understanding of IBM Z Systems and hybrid cloud deployment models.
Knowledge of various storage architectures including SAN, NAS, DAS, and RAID.
Familiarity with file systems like NTFS, ext4, ZFS, etc.
Basic understanding of networking protocols like TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
Experience scripting with Bash, PowerShell, or Python for automation tasks.
Awareness of cloud storage solutions like AWS S3, Google Cloud Storage, or Azure Blob.
Hands-on with data protection tools including Commvault or Veeam.
