The Software Test Engineer I will play a critical role in validating product functionality, automating tests, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to guarantee software reliability. Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium and Rest Assured with Java to ensure consistent software quality across multiple applications and environments.
Perform web service/API testing to validate RESTful services, ensuring seamless integration between software modules.
Execute database testing, writing SQL queries to verify data integrity, accuracy, and backend processes.
Apply software testing fundamentals, SDLC, and STLC processes to ensure comprehensive test coverage and adherence to best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and business analysts using Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA for task tracking and defect management.
Participate in CI/CD pipelines, contributing to automation integration in the build and deployment process to ensure fast, reliable software delivery.
Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with developers to resolve issues efficiently and accurately.
Contribute to test planning, test case design, and execution for both functional and regression testing, ensuring software meets the highest quality standards.
Maintain detailed documentation related to test cases, test results, defect reports, and quality metrics to provide transparency and support continuous improvement.
Stay updated with the latest testing tools, methodologies, and industry trends to implement best practices and improve automation coverage.
Support the team in troubleshooting production issues when required and participate in post-release analysis to improve future testing cycles.
Required Skills
Hands-on experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium and Rest Assured.
Proficiency in Java programming, with the ability to write robust and reusable test scripts.
Strong knowledge of SDLC and STLC, including test planning, test execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
Expertise in API and web service testing, including RESTful APIs validation and integration testing.
Experience in database testing and writing complex SQL queries to validate backend data integrity.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and daily stand-ups.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and ability to integrate automated tests into the software deployment process.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear collaboration across teams.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, hybrid environment and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
Proactive team player with a collaborative mindset and a commitment to continuous learning and quality improvement.
Preferred Skills
Exposure to scripting languages like JavaScript or automation tools such as Ansible.
Basic understanding of performance, security, and chaos testing (non-functional testing).
Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially AWS services and cloud-based infrastructure concepts.

Experience with cloud-based testing environments and modern software delivery practices.
Prior experience in product-based companies or working with product clients is highly desirable.
