Role Overview
We are looking for a Graduate Engineer Trainee – QA to join our Quality Assurance team at Alight. This role involves ensuring software quality by performing manual and automated testing, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and supporting Agile development processes. As part of our growing technology department, you will gain hands-on experience in QA methodologies and contribute to delivering high-quality product releases.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and execute test cases and scenarios based on user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria.
Perform manual testing of web applications, APIs, and back-end systems to ensure quality and coverage.
Collaborate with automation engineers to design and execute automation test cases where applicable.
Log, track, and manage defects using defect tracking tools such as JIRA.
Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos.
Conduct regression testing to validate bug fixes and maintain product stability across releases.
Document test results and maintain testing artifacts using tools like TestRail, Zephyr, or Xray.
Work closely with the QA Manager and team members to continuously improve testing processes, tools, and best practices.
Support performance testing and test data management activities as required.
Required Skills
Strong understanding of QA methodologies, testing types, and Agile principles.
Proficiency in manual testing and familiarity with automation tools like Selenium.
Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman or SOAPUI.
Hands-on experience with JIRA, Confluence, or other test management tools.
Basic knowledge of CI/CD environments (Jenkins, Git).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
