Key Responsibilities
Identify top and emerging market risks weekly using inputs from internal risk analysis teams and market risk managers.
Conduct deep-dive analysis into risk concentrations or trends and provide reports that are clear and appropriate for senior management.
Collaborate with asset-class aligned risk managers to understand changes in market risk and the impact on capital and risk metrics such as Value at Risk (VaR).
Assist in preparing detailed insights and documentation for ad hoc senior management queries, audits, or regulatory investigations.
Support communication and presentations of portfolio-level topics to risk committees and senior stakeholders.
Monitor macroeconomic and geopolitical developments and assess their impact on Deutsche Bank’s risk profile.
Design and maintain tools for streamlined and effective analysis of risk data.
Coordinate across risk and business teams globally to ensure consistency in risk frameworks and reports.
Assist in creating risk appetite and identification frameworks in line with best industry practices.
Work with internal systems and tools to extract, analyze, and visualize market risk data effectively.
Required Skills
Strong understanding of financial markets, trading products, and key market risk concepts such as Value at Risk (VaR), RNiV, and Economic Capital.
0–2 years of relevant experience in market risk, trading, product control, or investment banking.
A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, or a similar quantitative discipline.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, especially for reporting and presenting data.
A strong interest in macroeconomic and geopolitical issues and their market implications.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for senior-level stakeholders.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in global cross-functional teams.
Self-motivated and a quick learner with a collaborative mindset.
Preferred Skills
Experience or internships in a similar role within a financial institution.
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and risk governance processes.
Understanding of historical market risk events and how they affect current risk management.
Familiarity with VaR back-testing and stress-testing techniques.
Python skills for data manipulation, modeling, and automation of risk analysis workflows.
Exposure to internal valuation processes, model risk, or pricing controls.
Experience with databases or data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
Ability to interpret and summarize large volumes of market data into concise insights.
Comfort with presenting findings to non-technical audiences.
