Key Responsibilities
As a Data Scientist I at BMS, you will join our Global Product & Supply (GPS) analytics team, helping drive decisions that improve efficiency, ensure product availability, and ultimately benefit patients around the world. This role blends technical skills, analytical thinking, and business understanding to solve real-world problems in a complex, fast-moving environment.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Analyzing large, complex datasets to uncover insights that inform GPS strategies and operations.
Partnering with business stakeholders to clearly define problems, establish measurable goals, and align on key performance indicators (KPIs).
Designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines, machine learning models, and dashboards that make insights accessible and actionable.
Collaborating with IT teams to optimize data infrastructure, ensuring reliable data flow and storage across systems.
Preparing clear, compelling reports and presentations for leadership and cross-functional teams, translating technical findings into business-friendly recommendations.
Following best practices in analytics, including version control, model deployment, documentation, and scalability planning.
Working across time zones with colleagues in the U.S. and other global locations, ensuring smooth collaboration despite geographic differences.
Required Skills
To excel in this role, you should bring a mix of technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and communication skills. You will need:
Strong experience developing machine learning models for classification, regression, and time-series forecasting.
Proficiency in Python and advanced SQL for data preparation, analysis, and modeling.
Hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau.
Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, preferably AWS.
An analytical mindset, with the ability to dig into data, spot patterns, and identify meaningful trends.
Preferred Skills
