In this role, you will be a key contributor to building high-performance financial systems. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams and product leaders to deliver impactful solutions that streamline Amazon’s financial decisions.
Design, implement, and maintain software applications that solve complex financial challenges.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and understand software requirements and translate them into high-quality code.
Participate in agile software development practices including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
Write clear and efficient code using object-oriented programming practices.
Develop unit, integration, and system-level tests to ensure software reliability and performance.
Work with internal Amazon engineering tools, libraries, and platforms to build scalable services.
Prototype and validate software concepts using simulation tools or real-world testing.
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance across cloud environments.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers and junior engineers.
Document design choices, technical architecture, and business logic to ensure long-term maintainability.
Required Skills
Amazon is looking for highly motivated software engineers with strong programming fundamentals and a passion for building world-class software.
1+ years of hands-on software development experience (not including internships).
Proficiency in at least one programming language: Java, Python, C++, or C#.
Solid understanding of object-oriented design and software engineering principles.
Experience working with version control systems such as Git.
Strong skills in writing efficient algorithms and data structure implementations.
Ability to develop testable, scalable, and maintainable code.
Familiarity with RESTful API design and integration.
Comfortable working with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar).
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline.
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) including Lambda, EC2, S3, or DynamoDB.
Exposure to financial systems or applications related to accounting or reporting.
Understanding of cloud-native architectures and containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes.
Knowledge of Machine Learning or Generative AI, especially as applied to predictive systems.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline.
Strong understanding of Agile software development processes and frameworks.
Ability to analyze logs and system metrics for troubleshooting and performance tuning.
Prior experience with simulation environments, robotics systems, or emulators is a plus.
