Key Responsibilities

As a Data Analyst in ABB’s People Analytics (PA) – Data & Insights team, you will play a vital role in driving analytics-based decision-making across the organization. Your responsibilities will focus on delivering insights, creating actionable dashboards, and supporting HR and business leaders in achieving their strategic goals.

  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Leverage advanced analytics techniques to solve complex business challenges. Extract, process, and analyze large datasets from systems such as SAP, Workday, and other HR platforms. Generate insights that support workforce planning, performance management, and business strategy.

  • Reporting Solutions & Automation: Develop end-to-end reporting solutions with a focus on clarity, usability, and visualization. Utilize tools such as Power BI, Python, Excel, VBA, and Azure to automate data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes. Ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy for stakeholders across the organization.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Strategic Projects: Partner with global HR and business leaders to provide actionable insights that inform strategy, improve employee experience, and enhance organizational performance. Participate in initiatives that strengthen talent management, engagement, and workforce analytics capabilities.

  • Collaboration & Continuous Learning: Collaborate effectively in a global virtual environment, demonstrating strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability. Continuously learn emerging technologies and analytical methodologies to enhance the value delivered to stakeholders.

  • Problem Solving & Data Storytelling: Analyze complex and fragmented data to derive meaningful insights. Translate analytical findings into clear, compelling narratives that enable informed decision-making by HR and business leaders.

Additional responsibilities include identifying trends, monitoring KPIs, supporting data governance initiatives, and creating predictive models for strategic workforce planning. You will also be responsible for monitoring reporting processes, troubleshooting data-related issues, and ensuring that reporting aligns with ABB’s global standards and compliance requirements.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience working on large datasets to generate actionable insights.

  • Proficiency in designing, developing, and maintaining dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or VBA.

  • Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, macros, and data modeling.

  • Experience with data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes from HR and ERP systems such as SAP and Workday.

  • Ability to communicate analytical insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Attention to detail and a strong methodological approach to problem-solving.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic work environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in Python, R, or SQL for data analysis, statistical modeling, and automation.

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS for analytics and reporting.

  • Understanding of HR analytics, workforce planning, and talent management metrics.

  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality management, and compliance best practices.

  • Experience in predictive modeling, forecasting, and advanced statistical techniques.
